In addition to wine, our winery produces a variety of distinctive spirits. The first such unique drink is traditional Georgian Chacha.
Chacha is made of Grape Pomace (grape residue left after making wine). We perform double distillation to reach higher grades of alcohol and purity.
Grape must is kept in Qvevri for the whole winter and only in early spring we start preparing for distilling.
When Chacha is ready to be distilled, we take it out of Qvevri and start concentrating in a big copper pot. We cover it with a lid and plaster it with the mixture of the ground and ash. Then, we coat the junction of handle and pipe with cornflour, tie it with a piece of cloth, burn wood under the pan and start distilling.
Artana Wines produces two types of Chacha. Rkatsiteli Oaked Chacha and Saperavi Chacha.
Chacha labels were specially designed by a Georgian painter Lomero Akhvlediani to give a bottle an original look which conveys the character of the drink very well.
Traditionally distilled Chacha is rapidly gaining popularity and today it is commonly produced by a lot of wineries.
That`s why Anastasia Akhvlediani, the owner of Artana Wines, together with Ana Tsaishvili founded the Natural Chacha Association, which will promote this drink to the world.

"Maro" is distilled Rkatsiteli ღVINO. As well as Chacha, it is double distilled. The drink has a fantastic aroma and a soft taste. In general, wine distillation produces wine alcohol, which is then aged in barrels and is used to make brandy.
Our "Maro" does not go through the ageing process in barrels not to lose its natural primary taste.
